Born and raised in the suburban San Francisco Bay Area, I was drawn to a more rural lifestyle as a young adult. I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and UC Davis, graduating with a bachelor’s in Viticulture and Enology. I worked in the wine industry several years before realizing that my heart was really in a more active, high alpine life. After jaunts to several mountain towns in the western US, my young family landed in Crested Butte in 1984.
I’ve written for community newspapers, volunteered with the Adaptive Sports Center, as a member of the Gunnison County Housing Authority, the Gunnison County Planning Commission, served as founding member of the Trails Commission and Historic Preservation Commissions in the County, and helped found the Enrichment Committee at the Crested Butte Community School. My children benefitted from growing up in a warm, intimate community. Safe, affordable and energy efficient housing for all is my special interest and hope for the people of the Gunnison Valley.
